Recommendation:

For a primer, only one coat is necessary.
For a finishing product, two coats are recommended.

Warning: the amount of coats required could be higher for a substrate in poor condition or very absorbent, and if you try to cover red and green colours.

Theoretical spreading rate per coat that varies according to the application method, the evenness and porosity of the substrate.
